Don't bet your career on the chance you will be going to Southwest or Delta. There is still some major downsizing among the majors. They are vacating the domestic flying and handing it over to Republic, Skywest and their own wholly-owned regionals. The growth is in the domestic flying which is now being outsourced. You are free to dream and may even be one of the lucky ones, but you should also focus on a good contract where you are because you will probably have to live with it for your entire career.
I guess you haven't looked at how Delta has been gutting its own WO's Parking half of Mesaba's fleet and just look at the parking lot Comair has become in CVG. In their place CVG has been filled with Freedom, Chatauqua, and ASA. And the Mesaba cities are either being abandonded entirely or covered with Pinnacle, Comair, Freedom, and Skywest.
