While I appreciate the gesture, I don't think this will help. First, from a union perspective you have to be very careful what you advocate publicly - as I understand it, ALPA can be held responsible for your actions and in this case your actions would not be legally following the contract. Also, as much as we tend to hate scheduling, they are generally abused both by us and management and really don't deserve it when we vent our frustration on them for management's policies!

I don't know if bringing back the furloughees would help or hurt the company at this point - I've heard compelling arguments both ways, but in general I agree that the average line value has to be much higher before the company truly needs to. It seems that management has decided it is more efficient to utilize reserves for excess open time, but I think when things get busy this summer, the current policy will bite them in the arse. Just my humble opinion.
