There's no way that I'm going to be flying anything bigger than an E-145 for the foreseeable future with my current company. With 5000 total and 1300 jet PIC and one letter of rec on file how do I bring myself to the attention of HR? I realize people have waited for years to get hired at brown, but really how do your make your app shine with nothing but 4000 hours in an RJ? I really don't think another 1000-2000 hours in the RJ is really going to make me a better candidate tomorrow than I am today. Any suggestions?
Yeah...........Keep applying to all the Majors who are hiring or might start hiring,. Don't put all your eggs in one basket, i.e Make UPS your 1st choice if that is who your really want, but I wouldn't exclude working for FedEx, CAL or whoever else might be hiring. Keep you applications updated.
Network .......did I mention network with as many folks as you can.
If you never get the call what have you lost except the knowledge you gave it your best shot. Keep your nose to the grindstone and it will eventually payoff. Good luck........my 2 cents
