Dear Duff,

Hey man I am with you. I don't make the news I am just reporting it. The reality is that no one cares if you make a smooth landing or not. The world will not stop if you quit.

However if a well liked CEO wishes to leave a company then the stockholders will pay a huge sum to keep him. Additionally if ESPN wants people to watch a golf program then it had better have Tiger Woods playing that day. Our profession is not that special anymore and the training is easy to get. As I have mentioned in a previous post. It is more difficult to become licensed to cut hair than to become a regional FO. No one will be willing to pay much for the profession until supply chain is slowed down. Sadly however the fun factor is too high and people are still lined up at hundreds of colleges all over the country to get a job that pays 18K per year.

I think that there is no where else to go but to continue down till the pay is so lousy that even the thrill seekers shy away, and there it will stay.

The value isn't within the work that we do but in what others are willing to pay for it.
