I hope I am wrong but I think the wholly owned are done for. One way to lower costs is just get rid of all your costs.
Don't see it happening..even if they only weed it down to one airline. DL has more contractual and operational control over the wholly owned. We cancel when they want us to cancel and don't have any contractual issues to deal with. Wholly owned are flexible and can be shrunk or expanded to meet capacity needs. The stockholders want wholly owned and aren't happy being stuck with SkyWest/ASA's generous and prolonged contract or subsidising RAH's new mainline aircraft that are now and will be in competion with DL. The fee's we're paid just go right back into Delta's cophers, so other than payroll, leases, and other bills they're really not loosing money as they are with the contract carriers.

Man..these managment classes are rotting my brain!
