I don't have a "horse" in this race but ISN'T THIS show JUST like the one that's presently going on at US Airways?? USAir was a flop!! a sinking ship about to go under and here comes America West!! Everything is ok until it comes to seniority and all of a SUDDEN is Horray for me!!
You guys saved my JOB and now SCREW YOU!! We're not going to share the "wealth" cuz we want all of ours and all of YOURS!! Sound Familiar?? Midwest didn't go under, they were DROWNED like RATS. Frontier was a Salable brand. Had they Done what they SHOULD have done and sought a merger with Jet BLUE they'd be making money and have two of the TOP Hub cities in the country whare they'd be as entrenched as the Golden Gate and Verrazano Bridges on either END!! .
Instead? They got caught in a crossfire between United and Southwest in Denver and came up "Short".. Now, Sad as that may BE, they also passed up on becoming partners with Southwest over the "SAME Crap" you guys are arguing about! And HERE is where we find ourselves. The answer?? Real short and REAL SWEET Because THAT is what's going to happen.
LIKE it OR NOT!!. ONE airline taking over another airline and stapling their people to the bottom of the list isn't going to happen.. Obviously NOBOY on this board ever read the Allegheny/Mohawk Decision. So, maybe you should, because that's what you're advocating. All 3 Groups have a UNION and NOBODY even KNOWS what a UNION is FOR!! At what you're saying right now,, ALL of you DESERVE to go down in "flames" !! The Frontier guys and Midwest guys flew the Bigger "iron". And Brian B just bought some E190's from USAir. What you NEED to be asking is, How can this BENEFIT us ALL??? Obviously Somebody is going to LOSE in this. The Arbitration IS going to happen and ,NONE of you will like it! the bigger picture is what do you do about it until the tables are turned in the economy and Major Airline Hiring???? That's right!! Either FLY or QUIT!
All of this interim Rhetoric is pointless!! Here's my scenario about USAir. At some point in the future UAL is going to have to merge with USAir to get all of the USA Star Alliance members on the same page. In Systems architecture, Marketing, Schedule, Pricing and Gateways,Continental and United are already on the way to a Solid partnership if NOT an all out Merger.. USAIR will either become a Major Player or get "shown the Door".(LITERALLY) There's no way in Hell they can introduce Anything Close to UAL or CAL so therein lies the NEXT problem. The USAIR pilots bolted ALPA when they saw what they "agreed to", but despised what they GOT!
When a merger happens (and it will) USAPA will HAVE to return to ALPA and accept the "unacceptable" or Get "shown the door" like the ORIGINAL Frontier Pilots!! (Anybody remember that fiasco??) Did ANYBODY think that was an ACCIDENT?? Well Let me Tell you, A Captain told me that ALPA will eventually "settle" all Scores. United flew the 737 with 3 pilots prior to 1985. Frontier's ALPA group took the OTHER PATH and let that seat get eliminated which UAL's Management forced to UAL ALPA as well. Gettin' Even is a DOG when you're on the wrong end. USAPA could be heading for that SAME end. United Has A320's A319's and we can FLY the A321's We're WELL Familiar with the CFM56-3 and the -5 will for in the SAME Stands with the exception of the A330's which Hawaiian might LOVE?? UsAir coud be dismantled in under a MONTH!! They have 2 maint control centers in Pittsburgh and Phoenix, United is moving to downtown Chicago in 2011-2012.. The "LOYAL" ALPA Pilots of the Former AMWEST would come in welcomed with OPEN ARMS While the "Dis-Loyal" USAPA members would be LUCKY to Come in at ALL!! Much LESS move in and fly a 777 or 747!! Now, I'm not a Pilot Anymore though I AM working in the Ops Center at UNITED. BUT!! If I can see this scenario taking place?? Dudes?? It CAN'T be THAT HARD to SEE!! Stop the FLamebaiting~and nastiness all around or whom ever GETS screwed?? Might look Just like YOU!! This is just plain GREED an Arrogance! You gotta be Better than this!! or at the LEAST?? TRY!
