No, sorry I worded that confusingly. They do this outside of the flight school. I am just saying that is what people do at my school to build hours outside of their normal job. There are places nearby that rent multis and thats how they build their time. Sorry for the confusion!
Wow, hearing stuff like this makes me really appreciate my job.
I thought people bought multi time if they were either trying to get their 250 for commercial, or didn't have a MEI rating and needed to meet minimums.
