Ask around at Republic - you'll find almost everybody on the line agrees with you on all three counts.
I understand that negotiations like these are adversarial by nature, with each of the negotiators over-representing their own side's interests. That said, If I were a tinfoil hat kind of guy, I'd suspect the IBT of intentionally alienating the other two unions involved, assuring that the other two are unwilling to work with the RAH group. Seems like the best way of allowing the IBT guys to keep their jobs regardless of how badly they've been screwing up for years - now they can sell the whole mess as "protecting" the RAH pilots from the other two unions, who will surely be out for blood over how badly the negotiations have gone.
The IBT has
never spoken in the best interests of the RAH pilot group. If you ask me, the split from Local 747 and "emergency trusteeship" seems like a lot of the ol'
sturm und drang to draw attention from their established track record of blatant incompetence and corruption. Take that for what you will.
