Regional pilots have a ton of blood on their hands as well. There is this funny theory called market economics that drives the value of all commodities including labor. You chose to value your labor at such a low wages and thus make it more tempting to airline management. If you and other regional pilots had said no, then the wages would have come up until sufficient pilots were found who would work at decent wages. Or better yet it would have been uneconomical to farm it out and it would have stayed at mainline.

Your desire to use RAH as a "stepping stone" and not care what you get paid is a big part of the problem.

Some pilots were indifferent, some were greedy, and some were ignorant. It doesn't change the fact that everyone had a hand in making it what it is today.

You forgot one...

, some are rich kids and daddy bought them a job,

Remove the corruption. Vote FAPA.
You realize the EXCO get's paid those wages too right? Call me crazy but I don't think they want to make less

MD80, do you really think FAPA is working to bring YX guys back into F9 Airbus seats? I kinda doubt it......

It seems to me the arbitrator is going to decide that one.

What I hear is the Frontier and Lynx guys are pretty reasonable verses the Republic side of things. Also, I've seen how ALPA/IBT work and a independent union sounds great to me after thinking about the events of the last year.

Vote for change. Vote FAPA.

Translation: I really don't know any facts about what has happened so I decided to blame the IBT. I also heard someone say something nice about FAPA so they must be better. Lets vote in a new union.

As to what has happened over the last year. The IBT has successfully protected and enforced the scope language in our contract. Your airplanes are gone so you don't fly mine until they are ours... you know after we are on the same list.

Translation: The truth is out. Everyone knows how the IBT has behaved in the SLI proceedings.

Translation: I'm an IBT guy that is attempting to muddy the waters by alluding to the idea that you don't really know what happened.

The IBT behaved as it should. It has and is protecting RAH jobs. Why is that so hard for everyone to understand and accept.

Oh, I get it.

Republics IBT showed no support for the Midwest pilots under attack by TPG/BB. So now you think I should support the top 1000+ pilots at Republic to get the top 1000+ seniority numbers. RIGHT?!

1. I don't want Republic IBT because they are greedy, inept and corrupt.

2. I don't want ALPA because they allowed a giant hole* in the Midwest contract.
(* the Midwest scope language came from the American Eagle ALPA contract)

3. I want FAPA because they seem (?) to have a good union that is not greedy, inept or corrupt.

Ask around at Republic - you'll find almost everybody on the line agrees with you on all three counts.

I understand that negotiations like these are adversarial by nature, with each of the negotiators over-representing their own side's interests. That said, If I were a tinfoil hat kind of guy, I'd suspect the IBT of intentionally alienating the other two unions involved, assuring that the other two are unwilling to work with the RAH group. Seems like the best way of allowing the IBT guys to keep their jobs regardless of how badly they've been screwing up for years - now they can sell the whole mess as "protecting" the RAH pilots from the other two unions, who will surely be out for blood over how badly the negotiations have gone.

The IBT has never spoken in the best interests of the RAH pilot group. If you ask me, the split from Local 747 and "emergency trusteeship" seems like a lot of the ol' sturm und drang to draw attention from their established track record of blatant incompetence and corruption. Take that for what you will.
