Lynx killed off part 2
Not much has been said about the Lynx furloughs, maybe it's mixed in with the other Frontier/Midwest/Lynx/Republic threads, but I thought it deserved it own.
First wave of layoffs for Lynx Aviation today - The Denver Post
The first group of furloughs a few weeks ago made up mostly of volunteers went mostly unnoticed, but the good people will be missed.
The second group the last couple of days has been really sad for all. The Frontier rampers and gate agents at the east end of A concourse have shed a few tears with us, the place is a ghost town now.
On the positive side we've had pilots move on to Virgin, Air Tran, Eagle, corporate, etc. Some have interviewed with Colgan and Republic (despite RAH wanting them to sign a 2 year contract).
On the negative, to the Republic 170 crew who openly complained on freq. about having to park on the east end in your "big jet" grow up and be thankful that the people handling your aircraft actually gave a s--t about the company they worked for. Nuff said.

About half of Lynx's 400 employees will be laid off this month.
Airline spokeswoman Lindsey Purves said Monday that layoffs stood at 67.
"However, we do anticipate many openings for our Lynx team members at both Frontier and Republic," Purves said.

They don't act like it, do they? They seem determined to muddy the waters even more than anyone thought possible.

We have presented our case to the arbitrator... who knows how it will turn out. The Midwest FA's weren't given any recall rights by the NMB so nothing is logical or fair about this mess.
So for the love of god...
PROBABLY!!!
Turns out 1/3 of the Lynx pilots opted to take Voluntary layoffs in this horrible job market rather than see Lynx get driven into the ground by RAH management. Then looking at the waiver form RAH expects us to sign to get our Frontier severance package... justifies my voluntary. Good luck to the crews sticking it out this summer... you guys deserve better.
