This is the solid truth that many people don't want to hear. If you think you will be happy at a regional (hopefully not commuting) and can make a fair wage and still pay off your student loans then go for it. The days of making big money as a pilot are over. I love to fly and am willing to do it for a fair wage but also know that the days of making much money at it are over. If you truly are going for it because you love to fly I wish you the best of luck. Don't give up because it is gonna be a really long and hard road to travel.
