Why would you recall to jfk and than displace them right away and pay for moving expenses and then furlough? Thats a lot of money. Yeah everybody can say the hire 300 to furlough and there are a bunch of idiots but that would be really stupid.
Money is not an issue for Comair/DL. Opening/closeing bases, displacements, sim training all costs a lot of money! They don't care! They gotta do what DL says. I remember just a few months ago DL wanted to expand huge in the NE and now look what they are doing. Yes, everyone says they wouldn't recall just to furlough again a few months, but that doesn't mean it can't happen.
