Section 23-B-1. Recall
a. A pilot will be recalled in order of seniority. When a pilot is recalled, his longevity date will be adjusted forward by the amount of time spent on furlough.
Since all pay is based on longevity, according to what the contract says, if you worked for 2 years and then were on furlough for a year, you should come back with 3rd year pay and your pay increases will still be based off your original hire date.
Am I reading the contract wrong?
I'm fairly certain all furloughees received appropriate notice from the company and no one was placed on furlough and received pay in lieu of notice. Regardless... if anyone was, I don't believe they would have accrued more than a week or two of additional longevity.
