Otherwise the company might actually have to spend some extra money on training two of the original Acey 80 furloughees by running them through the 18+ month inactive training pipeline - which is most costly (obviously) than the guys who have been lucky enough to only be gone for less than 12 months.
Does any know the status of the 2 slots not filled? I have not seen one word mentioned on Ourasa, but that's not saying much considering furloughs have extremely limited access. As far as the extra cost in training, according to conference call information: if you're out <12 months, you'll need - 3 days of ground school, 1 sim, 1 pc, OE as required. If you're out 12-18months, you'll need 2 days of ground, 4 days of gen ops, 2 sims, 1 pc, 1 qloft and 25 hours of OE. >18 months, welcome back to new hire training.
It would seem foolish of the company not to recall the remaining few slots needed, considering even though they need more than the 1st group, it is still considerably less than what will be needed after 08/09/2010
