If there is a pro and con to flow throughs, that ^^^^ is absolutely the #1 con for the mainline carrier and pilot group. Absolutely 100% and I thought that sitting at #1100 of 1100 when I was at Coex when it came to our flow through to CAL.
Now, to be fair, flow throughs are full of cons for most of the seniority list of any regional pilot outside of a regional the size of CPZ. There is stagnation, squatters, inability to apply, flow downs, etc.
The upsides are there too to be fair, thus, pro's and con's.
I have not really run across any guys with that attitute - but I am sure that they are out there. I guess if they interviewed when the flow through was already in place, and at that time they met all the DAL requirements (4 year degree, flight time mins etc) they probably viewed their DCI interview as their DAL interview and thats probably fair enough.
Now with that said, a little humility and gratitude goes a long way.
