Perhaps in your case. However, not every "major university", all gazillion of them, are somehow inferior to ERAU.
Also, I believe he said he's gay, so he might rather go to college in Palm Springs, San Francisco, or Key West. I suspect he's more grown up than that, and will pursue education / career goals, with social life being second.
