I was very low time when I was hired, less than 600, I also had other "deficits" on my resume which meant I needed to get some significant tt to have those deficits overlooked in lieu of gained experiance by even another regional.

If you go to Compass, you will get the ATP, plus a PIC type rating in the ERJ700/900. That is worth quite a bit, even if you are still a Regional FO. With the flow throughs, upgrade is likely in 2 to 3 years, assuming that the current trends continue. If you don't have enough PIC for the ATP, go rent a 150 to get it so you can qualify for the ATP with Compass.

I can't get passed the wholly owned issue, and newly added to my knowledge on Compass, the AQP issue...and the pay for your training accommodations is insulting (this is the sort of thing pilots should never accept if we are to have any hope of making the job better for future generations. IMHO, I believe accepting training at a regional that won't pay for your hotel is no different then working for MAG, or Great lakes). I have all the ATP requirements and then some..got nearly 500 PIC. But I will not go backwards. I just don't see any advantage to Compass over my current situation. I can get an ATP over a weekend, but flying right seat does nothing for your logbook even with one. You don't log PIC time as an F/O even when your typed and ATP'd it's still SIC time. You might get a few hours on a ferry flight if your capt. is nice enough to let you log it but going to Compass is again, waiting on upgrade.) And you hit the nail on the head..."if the current trend continues"..Historically, in my life, I don't have good luck with lateral moves...
