I for one, think this might be a good thing for Comair. Being a high cost operation possibly prevented DL from selling Comair, which to me means one of two things. 1) They're finally going to get serious about lowering our cost (i.e. try to get the senior people out via buy-outs, etc), and 2) If they can't do so (lower our operational cost), they can't get rid of us which brings a whole new set of possibilities.
Evil, I wish I could be as positive as you!
I too, get the impression that no one saw this coming. However, I don't see this as a good thing for Comair. From the press release I gather that we were unsellable because of our high cost structure (Delta even financed the Mesaba and Compass deal).
My question, is why can't the get they get rid of us all together?
