I for one, think this might be a good thing for Comair. Being a high cost operation possibly prevented DL from selling Comair, which to me means one of two things. 1) They're finally going to get serious about lowering our cost (i.e. try to get the senior people out via buy-outs, etc), and 2) If they can't do so (lower our operational cost), they can't get rid of us which brings a whole new set of possibilities.
There will never be a serious buyout of senior guys. DAL is not going to reward the very people that were the ones behind the 01 strike. If that song and dance were to happen it would have happend years ago.
I see DAL not being able to sell OH for what they want, and deciding to continue to operate it as cheaply as they can. IE no additional airframes added for several years until the labor cost finally goes down.
