Anyone have any experience recently with the 7 Day Opt? I am currently under 2 years to my ADSC (Apr 2012) and the assignment options on my plate are none too pretty (apparently guys are now being non-vol'd to staff...who knew?). I am particularly interested in how the DOS is established. The reg says the member can request a DOS no later than the last day of their longest ADSC, but the needs of the service can override this. What I do not want to have happen is to 7 day opt and be told that I'll be separating 30, 60, or even 180 days later. This is a 180 degree change from what I was expecting and I would like to have at least 12 months of lead time to get the ATP, finances in order, job search, etc.
