What was confusing, is that you said you were hired in 2005? "Next year" to me is 2007. 2007-2005=two years.
Also, even if there were 10 reitrements per month, it would take 10 months to move up 100 numbers. Not the 3 or so it seemed to be.

Currently we are retiring 20-25 per month and hiring 40-50 per month. With PBS many want to stay senior before bidding an upgrade. Otto, is correct. Many new hires here at CAL will be able to upgrade in 3 years in my opinion.
We hired something like 400 last year and retired 200. 2007 we retire 325 and will hire 400-450 again.
The math speaks for itself.
