VFS is a reputable company (they are contracted by ALPA for all their member pilots). $1100 seems reasonable given the scope of the issue.

I haven'y used AOPA, I'm sure they are good too.

Like others have said, avoid ERAU. It has a bad rap in the industry today (may have been a different story many years ago).
