The ONLY reason im going to Embry Riddle is because the post 9/11 gi bill is paying for 100% of it. And i can go there and not worry about normal college life.. i heard its not a party school and i dont really need a party school. I need to learn to fly lol.
That reply didnt come from AOPA. That is what i got from virtual flight surgeons. The reply i got from the AOPA pretty much said its gunna be an up hill battle, and that i will need a psych eval and neurological report for the brain injury.. They also said to contact them if i need help with anything. And best of all they didnt ask for money...lol. So im guessing AOPA is a much better place to deal with vs virtual flight surgeons..

On top of that be POSITIVE that you're going to be able to get a 1st class medical before you drop a dime in that place. If you can't get a medical and you blow through all your benefits, it will all be for not.
Go talk to an AME and try and get a 1st class medical. If you get it, AWESOME! If he refers it to Oklahoma City you're going to have to get AOPA in the fight and jump through a lot of hoops. Again, have that in hand before you spend a penny on flight training.

The post 9/11 pays up to the most expensive state school in your state. But if the school does the yellow ribbon program, then the school pays for half of what is over that and the va pays for the other half. Its really an awesome deal. And your right about the medical certificate. Im definately not going to waste my benefits on erau if i cant fly. Other than price, how was your experience at erau? Did you got to prescott or florida? And did they help you at all to get your first job as a pilot?

VFS is a reputable company (they are contracted by ALPA for all their member pilots). $1100 seems reasonable given the scope of the issue.
I haven'y used AOPA, I'm sure they are good too.
Like others have said, avoid ERAU. It has a bad rap in the industry today (may have been a different story many years ago).
