The only problem with Horizon is the job is so good, guys get stuck in the right seat for too long. Every day you spend at a regional is one less day at your major airline.
Upgrade is the only thing that matters at the regional level. Horizon is a career killer since it takes 6 to 7 years to upgrade then you are on reserve for another one to three years. It can take 10 full years to reach a point where you can finally start applying to the majors and by then most don't care anymore.
In addition to the majors a 36 year old Horizon dash 8 captain looks like a failure sitting next to a 28 year old RJ captain from Mesa. Not good.
