Fighter jock, trash hauler, rotor head, fuel jockey ....... the military aviator comes in many forms ....... air force, Navy, coast guard, army..... and yes, even the revered Marine. Bottom line, each military aviator has at the essence of his/her, airframe specific culture - professionalism. Those on the outside will always cast stones simply because they could never attain or maintain such a high standard - one of study, discipline, and Officership/leadership.
To fly and lead those in a time of war has been my single biggest honor, and will never be tarnished by some internet douche on the sidelines that never has, was, or will be. I am continually filled with comfort when some internet clown runs his "suck" negatively toward those that have held those high standards. It always makes me smile, knowing that said douche, has hit the pinnacle achievement of his life, flying the red-eye out of SFO. Laughable.
To my brothers and sisters - long live those brave few. To the rest of you -continue to dream of our adventure and peril.
