Wow. I am touched by the outpouring of brotherly love, support and forgiveness of things that are ancient history exhibited here on this thread. It's enough to choke a guy up a little.

On a serious note, I don't care what bad blood there is in the past, this truly, truly sucks for everyone affected. And it's not just us in the pointy end but FAs, maintenance, rampers, agents...everyone who hung their hat at Comair. It sucks to be treated this way by a remorseless company whos decision makers would probably wet themselves if they had to deal with some of things we deal with day in and day out and I can't help but see parallels between Delta/Comair and Continental/XJT. Just like with Comair's inauguration of the RJ, the strike and industry leading contract followed by years of whipsawing and contraction at the hands of a vengeful mainline partner obsessed with cost cost cost, I fear this is another example of Comair being the canary in the coal mine. I think what you see happening here today could ring very loudly for the future of us all.

My buddy from college got furloughed from Comair last time around. I'll never forget him telling me what a relief it was to be rid of the DCI musical chairs game, especially at a carrier that always seems to be in the cross-hairs. Best of luck to all of you affected.
