This isn't really a silver lining but look at it this way. We've been hearing rumors for months that Delta was giving away your 700s and 900s and leaving you as a slowly disappearing 50 seat airline. It seems the opposite happened.

They could have just pulled the plug, but instead they are making one last attempt to make the company marketable. Yes it sucks that the company is getting cut in half, and lots of people are losing jobs, but at least the company has a chance to survive this way.
