Your comments remind me of the pilots at United that did all kind of things to keep Black- I mean minority pilots out of the cockpit or have those guys terminated by any means available. Discrimination is wrong- I don't care about the melatonin in your skin. If you engage in it- black, white, gender based, it's wrong!! I feel for those both black, white and gender pilots who were unjustly treat because of who they were, not being given a chance to prove thier worth to the organization because of hang ups like this. If your qaulified to fly that aircraft, and can do it safely, then by all mean fly it.
I totally agree. Racism, prejudice, reverse-prejudice, chauvinism, sexism, discrimination, cronyism, favoritism, nepotism, partiality, bigotry and general unfairness in any form is abhorrent. And "other" can contain other qualities too.
As for what happened to the fNWA poolies, I was against that. However, the laywers got involved and politics reared it's ugly head.
It goes back to incentive. Had Delta had any incentive to respect the fNWA pool, they would have, and their lawyers would have found a way to do that too. Then Delta would have maintained respect. There is zero respect for Delta HR. It’s great to hear Delta HR folk defend the indefensible though. Convenient contrived excuses.
And back to the topic, as screwed as the fNWA poolies feel, it does pale in comparison to the screwing that Comair pilots will be experiencing through 2012. I'm not a Comair pilot but I will say God speed my brothers and sisters there as they face their Delta imposed future.
