There are probably 5-10 guys from your UPT base that you flew with that are at FDX. Once you are dialed in, it is easy to find others that you flew with. Either you are not trying or you don't feel you would be remembered in the most flattering light.
Military pilots without solid recs and sponsors do not have much of a chance. With all the ex-mil guys here, the feeling is that if you don't have numerous guys you've flown with recommending you, there might be a reason. That unwritten rule doesn't seem to be as hard and fast for civilian pilots because the hiring group recognizes that they might not know more than one or two pilots. But military....think harder.

Sure bro go and kick a guy when he is down! Its like slapping a kid with cancer. I have responded to every reply just like I am with yours! I am not going to get in a ****ing match here but I feel like I need to respond! As the days have gone by I have learned a few things. 1. Talk is cheap! 2. Action speaks much louder then words! The constructive folks that have responed to me; I listen too. 3. Fedex's hiring way of doing business sucks! Getting a job with them should not be like applying to a flying club! Maybe thats why there CP is ****ed and puts out letters to be more professional, maybe that also explains why they have more than their share of accidents! Right now they can pick and choose but soon they won't have that luxury. As the Airline industry makes a come back from the brink the process they have in place will go away. 4. As the days pass I am finding more guys I know that work for them. A buddy is sending me a pilots list and hopefully I will find more guys I know that work for them. So far three friends have said they will help soon as they start hiring again. 5. I am very naive when it comes too this business and am playing catch up. 6. Guys like your self are not helpful! Just my two cents.
