If you want a job at a major, you definitely do not have the job for the right reasons - which I'm sure is now obvious to you. If you don't ever want to join a major, then it's a little more understandable.

Here's the problem. When you took that job, you are only ensuring that you stay there forever because you are diluting the chance for that Delta seat.

I hope that after reading this, you'll understand there is a lot more that you and regional pilots could do.

I've heard the argument that regional pilots by accepting a job at their respective companies are hurting the profession. However, I don't know if that is a valid argument to make in light of what has happened in this industry. I mean, you can take this argument right to the mainline. I've seen the compensation packages of pilots at the mainline and I can tell you there is a huge discrepancy between pilots who have a frozen pension fund and those that don't. Since the company is paying into the pension fund this is part of the total compensation of the more senior pilot. Is the junior mainline pilot, by accepting a job at mainline with significantly lowered benefits in comparison to the more senior pilot, also hurting the profession?
