Good point. However to play devil's advocate, you get much more total membership flying people around 50 (yesterday) and even 70-76 (today) seats at a time than 150+ at a time. The sad thing is it doesn't have to be either/or. Airlines should fly whatever planes they want, but each pilot group at each respective airline should be doing that flying. Outsourcing to the lowest bidder, even if it creates more total jobs, is an unsustainable scorched earth battle plan that attempts to win through mutual (self) destruction by burning the furniture to heat the house along the way.
