The reason that the solution is not as obvious as it appears from the sidelines is because there are too many intimate people involved. It's politics Einstein. Why don't they let the membership vote on national's compensation? That would scare the absolute dog squeeze out of them because they know where that would go... so they insulate themselves by using "committees" which by pure nature will vote the easy way out. A simple majority keeps the pork flowing to their bank accounts. Sickening. Like Yoda said. "There is no try". Nobody at national gives a tinker's damn what the membership thinks as long as the money flows.
