What gives? Reading between the lines is probably worse than if all the mud slinging would have just been an open fist fight baring everyone's dirty laundry for all to see. Is there any way to predict if management will have their way with the pilots obscenely, or does this open the door for the UAL pilots to take advantage of the CAL pilot's leadership crisis, in which case CAL pilot will be doubly screwed?
Not to worry, the people on both sides who actually do the negotiations are experienced, disciplined and well vetted ALPA veterans. Unlike amateur, inexperienced, MEC politicians who view their jobs as getting even with some other political miscreant.
You have to hand it to the DAL MEC, they never Sh#% on the floor in public. They deserve our admiration for maneuvering the election of what some people describe as a quasi management tool. We probably will never know if they only wanted to kick him upstairs where he could not do any real damage. But, in either case, it was a job well done!
