I disagree with your claim that Nu made valid points. Parking DC-9's already slated to be parked (since 1999) due to cycle limits is not a strong counter to the fact that DAL is a better place now than its peer airlines, and has pulled almost all parked aircraft from the boneyard and buying more 160-seat jets.
The parking of the 747 freighters was something we at NWA were always close to. You'd know that if you have been at NWA for more than 15 years, which I assume you have. Rothmeier, Slattery, Dasburg, Levine, and their cronies kept the axe over that fleet for years. The lack of westbound revenue was chronic and problematic.
Parking RJ's validates a strategy. The strategy Moak has employed is different than the strategy used by the ALPA leadership at our peer airlines, and we've been more successful than them. Quibble if it suits you, but I think Karnak (sarcasm aside) makes his point.
