Non taken. It just frosts me when some mainline folks blame us for all that is wrong with this industry.
Giving up scope has been going on for at least 40 years. I hate it and most of my coworkers hate it. We cannot do anything about it, but the (primarily low seniority folks) at the mainlines blame us.
I tried for 9 years to avoid taking the regional pay hit, but in the end I realized it was a losing battle. And IMHO, those who were able to bypass the regionals, poo-poo those of us who have come up from the ranks (CFI, boxes, to the regionals) as being the root of all evil.
I guess I speak for those of us who want to be mainline pilots who were not military and did not have a relative on the hiring committee: just folks who were willing to pay the dues to eventually make it to the big leagues. Yet we are often vilified for the downfall of the industry. THAT is what burns me.
Good luck.
