Reading between the lines, the company position is still the lowball offer they suggested during section 6 openers in April of 2009. Reading further between the lines, no way in hell an agreement will be reached by Dec. 17th.
On the "between the lines category";
It could be that the company is trying to take advantage of the very lengthy SLI rift over pay scale banding. Maybe the company would rather deal with a DNC than wait for the JNC. It makes the divide and conquer routine one step shorter, and MUCH more fun for them.
How could they resist the chance to make some friends at the table.
