But staying with ALPA virtually guarantees that nothing will change. Like another poster said, the sales pressure we get on contracts is responsible for many of the yes votes. Don't think for a minute that ALPA's sales pitches and fear mongering don't have a significant influence on the vote. What I would rather see is to put the agreement out there. Explain the details in non-biased, technical terms. And put out pro and con papers for those who want that sort of thing. I think our pilots are plenty intelligent enough to form their own opinions and make good decisions about what is in our best interest. ALPA seems adamantly opposed to anything like this.
I'm beginning to think it would be easier to make the necessary changes by completely starting from scratch. I'm not convinced that ALPA is fixable.
