As a 3rd year FO I made 50K. Not great but certainly not what some of these other companies pay. Not trying to toot our company's horn, just saying that going to the first place you can get on isn't always the right thing to do. I have many friends who went other places who can barely afford their one bedroom apartment with 2 roommates. At least I was able to buy a house, get married, start a family, ect. Will it take me a few more years to get to a major? Probably, but I certainly won't be single living in a one bedroom apartment with 4 roommates on welfare with 8 days off while on my way to getting there. Plus if I can do day trips and 2 days and make 50K as an FO, I'm fine spending a few more years here enjoying my family.
XJT or ASA? Tooting your horn for either one of them doesn't make sense since there isn't anything to toot about...... next
