They'll get denied due to "interface," even though that went away when paper bidding went away. No limit on the number of ready reserves in a month, so you could actually be escalated every damn day if they wanted to. Or, like one poor soul actually got, awarded 21 days of ready reserve from PBS. Fatigue and sick policies aren't in the fine print, so they can change at the whim of the company.

The main problem I had with TA1 was the lack of loopholes being sewn up with the reserve language. Too many "to the extent possible" or "to the best of the company's ability" clauses still there. Might as well translate those as "no."

With the current negotiations, I'm willing to let it take its course, read the contract from a DW perspective (trying to find any loophole they can to get what they need) and vote accordingly.....assuming we ever see anything to vote on.

and you guys are trying to tell me that all regionals are the same? Give me a break man.

Naiive question here - I have been cruising the Pinnacle website for the pilot vacancy announcement. Do they not post it on the Pinnacle site but on the AirlineApps site instead? What sort of mins are you guys seeing in the new classes? I am just finishing up my COMM/ME/INST ratings and have a long ways to go but it's nice to learn some about these places before I am ready to try applying...

$20,700 is so much better?

The more pilots like you who will take these jobs just to get out of instructing, the more companies will continue to lower wages because they know people will accept it. Don't you want a higher paying mainline job to be available for you in the future? What you guys don't understand is if you keep accepting these wages you are KILLING the career progression for yourself and all of us. Sure, you might make it to a major in 3-5 years flying a "larger" aircraft. But your pay will be $40/hour instead of $70-80. You'll be making 40K a year to fly an E-190 or a Q1000 with a hundred seats.

You guys that haven't made it to the industry just don't understand this. You don't understand that you are BETTER OFF instructing for 20K a year and are actually risking your life LESS than if you take a job at places like colgan. At least as a CFI you're home every night and you're actually contributing to the knowledge of other perspective students. Working at colgan, you'll take home 11K a year flying aircraft that are maintained so poorly that if you actually knew what went on you'd be horrified. Not to mention you'll be home 6-8 days a month depending on if you're commuting or not, making LESS than your CFI salary! These companies will NEVER go away unless people start standing up and saying NO. I was hired at colgan but turned it down, and I waited until I could go somewhere that would at least pay/treat me what I was worth. The choice is yours my friend. I GUARENTEE you will wake up one day in the near future and deeply regret your decision to go there once you realize what you've gotten into. Keep the flames coming, I only speak the truth.
I thought you said people make 18K working for Colgan? Did they change the pay? I didn't get the memo. My first year I made $26,000 at Colgan.

Let me dazzle you with this amazement...In the 3.5 years I been at Colgan, I checked in/out maybe a few times. I have been Junior Manned once, extended once or twice, only had less then 12 days off for the first year or so and never had so much as a talkin to from any management regarding a fatigue call I made once for weather delays.

I will even go as far to say that I am happier at Colgan (living in base) then I would be at your employer (having to commute). I am now part of a much larger company (Pinnacle/Colgan/Mesaba) that is growing almost as fast as your blood pressure while reading this and my outlook is much brighter in my opinion where I am now.

Each his own my friend, get off your pedestal.
