As an XJ pilot we've not had any communication since the last deadline pasted - which is unusual. I just had a question.
If the jets are going to 9E and turboprops going to XJ with Colgan disappearing there appears to be a bit of a contradiction on the min day issue. Either turboprops get min day or they don't. Unless there has been a business plan change that I am not aware of in which jets and turboprops will stay at XJ. I would vote no if there was no min day for turboprops.
My other question is what has happened to the "work for free" for 15 minutes every leg issue?
I would also like to say this. While I do understand 9e frustration about 5+ years of negotiations to nowhere, I am concerned about not being united with the other pilot groups. Picketing will do nothing. Nobody cares. When the NWA mechanics struck nobody noticed and flight schedules weren't affected at all. I think instead of picketing if no one would have taken the 200% paid flying that would have scared them. But now that all the holiday flying is covered what is the companies incentive.
If I was management I wouldn't care what the pilots do on their own time as long as the flights went out on time. With nothing in the open time - you gave them what they wanted.
