Despite the contract issues, go to work looking like a professional. Leave the backpack at home. Wear the uniform provided by the designated vendor. And, when it is time to plus up a size, do it.

Cleaning that tie once in awhile to get rid of the crewmeal stains might also be in the cross check as well.

Cheers to all, and happy holidays.

I agree that some pilots do look like slobs. We have our share of guys over here who go buy black khakis (and at least one black jean wearer that I know of).

However, I do not wear the uniform pants from the chosen vendor. Our vendor used to be Cintas. I was not happy with the quality of their clothes and on more than one occasion received sizes completely different from what I ordered. Once I received two pairs of pants labeled the same size but the waist was off by 4 inches between them. I would always order them unhemmed and took them to The Men's Wearhouse to get them finished off.

Now we have gone to this G&K Uniform company which is flat out the worst quality stuff I have ever seen. I was happy to go to a new company but when I went to try on their stuff I said, "I can't believe that someone is worse than Cintas."

So now I go exclusively to Men's Wearhouse for my pants. I bring in my uniform coat, but it always ends up being the their "Joseph and Feiss" brand. They tailor, hem and perma crease everything and the quality is outstanding. Using another vendor isn't the issue. It's the time one takes to make sure they match and look professional.
