watch the economy. it is improving rapidly. I think we will hire about 80-100 people next year, and several hundred the following years.
Wow – how sad to read such a negative post that sticks a knife in “O’s” back. I’m just a line guy with no flex or management time here, but I can say this. I was very fortunate to do a sim with “O” in 2004 during my initial checkout in the bus. It was dual-hydraulic failure day in the syllabus. We went through all three variations of dual-hydraulic failure. My training bud and I found the Airbus QRH very confusing in our pre-sim study. Having a lot of military IP time, I realized it would not be a fun sim to teach, let alone take as a student. Well, “O” totally watered our eyes with how well he briefed and ran the sim. Everything just clicked. After it was over, my training bud and I just shook our heads – “That guy really has his sh**t together!!” In addition to his enormous technical skill, his people skills were tops also. Not to take away from our other flex instructors, but that event still stands out as the best sim I’ve ever experienced here. Since then, I’ve personally seen him standup for the pilots, especially when scheduling has abused us bottom-feeders doing those famous x-pairings you get on an airport standby. All said, “O” is a total class-act. My only worry is that when somebody eventually replaces him, we’ll all be wishing he was back! During this holiday season, I wish “O” and his family all the very best!!!
