DPA wants to split apart from other pilots and the largest pilots' union.
Splitting apart is the exact opposite of unification.
Unification is the action that provides unity.
Unity is the key concept behind the word "union".
A union that splits apart is no longer providing unity.
The mission of a union is to provide unity.
A union that does not fulfill its mission is a failure.
Therefore the idea of DPA is a failure.
"Independent union" is an oxymoron.
What unity do we have with ALPA? Every airline at ALPA is independent of the other. It sounds like you want to stay the course with an association that is not fulfilling it's mission.
