Can someone explain this to me? What does hiring internals mean? I would think that meant hiring current Southwest employees. But if you were a current SW employee in a different department and not already a pilot for them, wouldn't that mean you would be far out of currency flying requirements? Primarily guys from the training department.
For example, back in my training class there was a guy who had been a sim instructor for a few years for SWA while furloughed from AA/TWA. I'm sure we have some other dudes who are sim instructors who are still young enough.
I don't think we'll be able to get more than 12 dudes who meet the requirements from internally.
