I know a guy who was hired at Southwest back in 2007 who was out of aviation and sold insurance full-time for a while, then got back into aviation full-time but kept selling insurance as a side gig, was selling insurance as a side gig to his full-time flying job when he was hired, and continues to do so now as a 4th year FO.
