The reason it may matter is due to the new ATP requirement rules. While I'm not entirely sure how long airlines will have to ensure all pilots have ATPs that may be go/no-go hiring issue. If they have 2 years to get all pilots to ATPs and he is just turning 20 anyone should be able to see the potential conflict....but we are talking about airline management
