That's true, but in arbitration - anything can happen. This Mesabah guy talks about a ratio possiblility whereby senior RJ captains are ratioed in and allow them to fly 744 and 777 captain, etc. This is not at all an impossible outcome. This is also why management knows they would have the most extreme opposition possible to any kind of merger with a regional. Even if all the RJ guys agreed in writing to a staple, we all know how those contracts can be abrogated by a later arbitration.
