Finally, something bright is on the horizon. The first of approximately 30
meter pilots are finishing their first week of BI. Two more classes of
meter pilots are scheduled for mid February and early March. After that, we
should start seeing the Poolies, internal applicants, and new externals.
This FCIF should answer most of the questions on your role in this process.

How do you endorse and/or recommend a candidate?

FedEx pilots may use the Pilot Employment Recommendation Form (PERF) to
declare their endorsement and/or recommendation of a candidate’s
application. The form can be accessed via a link on the PFC main page
under “Forms”. The link is currently inactive. Link activation will occur
on Monday, 24 January or shortly thereafter.

You may complete one PERF for each candidate you seek to recommend;
however, you may only provide endorsement to one candidate at a time by
selecting the appropriate prompt on the Form. The Form is automatically
linked to the respective candidate’s profile. Please note that frequent
and/or numerous recommendations may have less weight than single or
infrequent recommendations.

Can a person without access to PFC submit a recommendation?

Yes, recommendations may be submitted via the “Recommendations” prompt on
the website. Additionally, candidates may upload recommendations, as an
attachment to their profile.

Responsibilities of Endorsement

When you endorse a candidate, you are personally attesting to a candidate’s
skill, qualifications and suitability for employment with FedEx Express.
Should your candidate be hired, you will play a major role in the mentoring
of that individual from post IOE through the end of their probationary
period. You will not be able to offer endorsement to another candidate
during that period. Should your candidate not succeed, you are free to
provide another endorsement.

IAW Corporate guidelines, no more "Meet and Greets"

Do not bring candidates in to meet your ACP or other Managers; however, you
may inform a Manager, preferably via email, that you have endorsed a
candidate. Retired pilots should follow the same procedure or they may
contact the SCP, preferably via email.

Mentoring

Every new hire will be enrolled in the mentoring program. The program
starts during IOE and ends upon completion of probation. You will receive
specific details as soon as they are finalized.

The Process

For now, the only major change to the interview process is the revival of a
new and improved Situational Based Interview (SBI).

Does a candidate require an endorsement?

FedEx does not require candidates to have an endorsement in order to be
considered.

Will we consider furloughed pilots?

We believe in providing equal opportunities for all qualified candidates.
New Hires who hold a seniority number with another carrier will be required
to resign their status with the other carrier.

If rejected, can you reapply?

Candidates who are rejected must wait one year before they reapply.

How long will the candidate profile system be open?

The application system is not a "first come first serve" process. The web
site will stay open for 60 days.
