A secret clearance is a security clearance, just a specific level. So as far as that goes it is kind of the same, as to why you have to have one for FedEx and not for other carriers, who knows. You will have to look at the contract between FedEx and the USPS.
Thanks MD. I thought they were just referring to the SIDA and standard airline background security checks. But that brings up another point, if you get based in HKG once you get hired, how do you maintain this clearance? Perhaps this can just be chalked up to the higher requirements (such as a FEX within 2 years) that Fedex requires for initial hires.
