In the other thread you say you are a FAIP. In that case, there is zero, none, nada, zip chance of going to any OSA assignment without doing an MWS gig first. It's simply not possible, at least on active duty. Your active duty first-assignment MWS counterparts rarely, if ever, have a shot at any big OSA (C-37, C-40, C-32). They'd get dibs on one of the good-deal OSAs way before a FAIP. Perhaps a C-21 would be possible, but even that would be really, really tough for a FAIP. You're doing your white jet tour right now- the AF wants to get at least one and likely two MWS tours out of you.

The "application" process is similar to any other non 89th, non E-4B, non B-2, non U-2 assignment. You list it on your dream sheet, pray your boss goes to bat for you, and hope one is available. Everyone and their mom wants them, so you won't get them unless you're an MWS IP at a minimum.
